Copyright and licensing

Authors keep copyright. Articles are published under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.

The International Journal of Justice and Police Sciences (IJJPS) is a gold open access journal committed to making research freely accessible while protecting the rights of authors. This policy sets out the copyright and licensing terms for articles published in the journal.

Copyright and licence

  • Authors keep copyright. Authors retain the copyright of their articles.
  • Publishing licence. Authors grant IIJPS a licence to publish the article and to identify itself as the original publisher.
  • Licence for readers. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) licence. Anyone may share and adapt an article for non-commercial purposes, provided the authors are credited and any adaptations are distributed under the same licence. Commercial use requires separate permission.
  • Exceptions. Articles co-published with other publishers may carry different licensing conditions. Access to these articles remains free.

Republication by third parties

Anyone wishing to republish, reproduce or distribute IJJPS articles for commercial purposes must obtain prior written permission from the publisher and the Editor-in-Chief. Requests should describe the intended use and be sent to justicepolicejournal@gmail.com.

Author rights

  • Authors may reuse their work for personal, teaching or institutional purposes, with acknowledgement of the original publication in IJJPS.
  • Authors are encouraged to deposit the published version in institutional or subject repositories after publication.

Publisher responsibilities

The publisher ensures that all published content remains freely accessible under the licence stated above, that licensing terms are communicated clearly, and that articles are preserved for long-term access.

Third-party material

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to use third-party material, such as images, tables or text, that is not covered by an open licence, and for acknowledging it properly.

Attribution

When reusing or sharing IJJPS content, credit the authors and the journal and include a link to the original article.
